The project consisted of a complete restoration of a 32,000 square foot cheese factory south of Kincardine, after the building was destroyed by a fire. As a food production facility, CFIA standards were integrated into all aspects of the design.

CONSULTING SERVICES
Callidus Engineering provided the plumbing, mechanical and electrical design services for the restoration of the building. The electrical design included new lighting, power layout for office area and plant equipment, communications systems to suit client needs, and a fire alarm system. The mechanical design included a new 30 tonne packaged air handling unit to serve the production rooms, a 6 million BTU boiler plant to support cheese production, new 75 HP air compressor and distribution, new nitrogen generator and distribution to packaging equipment, automatic sanitization systems, all hot water distribution to process equipment, heat exchangers, and integration into the production automation system for control. A unique boiler control system was design specifically for this plant in order to provide varying water temperatures simultaneously to different process equipment on demand.
