Construction is underway on a 32-bed addition to Sprucedale Long Term Care Centre in Strathroy following years of design. Our team provided mechanical and electrical design for the expansion, adding long-term care capacity locally.
Designed for an operating LTC facility, the addition integrates HVAC, hydronic heating, plumbing, fire protection, power, lighting, fire alarm, nurse call and communications systems with the existing building. The HVAC design was updated to provide full cooling to resident rooms with controls to meet current Ministry requirements.
The final design includes a supplemental boiler plant, in-floor radiant heating and rooftop HVAC equipment with MERV 13 filtration and energy recovery. Integration with existing systems supports resident comfort, dependable operation and continuity of building services during construction.
Once complete, the addition will provide 32 new resident spaces and expand the home’s ability to serve the Strathroy community. Its move into construction is a milestone for our team and the people it will support for years to come!
