The mechanical system included six central air handling units, which distributed air to each of the major building zones. The secure detention area featured 100% outdoor air with an energy recovery unit. Hot water heating was supplied to the air handling units, in-floor heating & snow melt, and various unit heaters from a central boiler system. The garage area utilized a hazardous gas monitoring system and associated ventilation. The entire building was controlled by a central building automation system. The mechanical systems were designed to meet the temperature, humidity, ventilation, and control requirements from the OPP Design Guidelines.

The plumbing system included water softening equipment, hands-free plumbing fixtures, a high-efficiency condensing water heater, and hot water re-circulation system. The fire protection system included a fully sprinklered building and pre-action system for the evidence storage vaults and server room.

The electrical system included power distribution, emergency generator to backup the complete building, fire alarm, door control, closed circuit camera system, voice data structured cabling system, lighting and lighting controls system, intercom and monitoring equipment, security and panic systems. The systems were designed to the requirements of the OPP Design Standards for all spaces identified in the standard.
