Callidus Engineering provided the design for a major renovation to the Frontenac Club, Kingston’s first boutique hotel. The main building was constructed in 1845. The currently building now includes the adjacent addition built in 1934. The total floor area is 15,500 ft ² plus approximately 2,650 ft² of finished basement. The renovation incorporated new interior finished, washrooms, commercial kitchen, laundry, staff areas, bar/lounge, exterior seasonal dining area, and an increase from 16 sleeping rooms to 20 sleeping rooms.

CONSULTING SERVICES
Callidus Engineering provided the mechanical and electrical design and construction phase services. Plumbing scope included all new supply and drainage piping including a new central domestic water heating plant. HVAC scope included an entirely new central heating and chilled water plants with approximately 30 heat pumps throughout the building. Electrical scope included a new incoming service, new power distribution, new fire alarm system and new lighting throughout.
