Callidus Engineering is proud to announce five new owner promotions to their London, Ontario-based firm.
While Grant Hall and Matthew Van Gilst remain as owners of the firm, they are pleased to welcome five new owners, including Derek Reid, Jennifer Stanley, Nick Lorusso, Russ Strathdee and Zam Abdulla who will join them in leading the company. The addition of these five new owners supports Callidus Engineering’s growth plan and demonstrates the firm’s commitment to serving its clients across eight provinces and the three territories in Canada.
Derek Reid – Mechanical Designer
Derek joined Callidus Engineering in 2006 and has over 10 years of experience working in the industry. Working as a mechanical designer and project manager for the firm, Derek has developed strong project and people management skills. Derek has also gained specialized knowledge in building condition assessments, NFPA-96 hood systems and managing multi-unit residential projects. Additionally, Derek has developed his management skills through four years as manager of the mechanical department and five years as a board of director’s member for a local non-profit organization.

Jennifer Stanley, P.Eng. – Mechanical Engineer
Jennifer brings almost 15 years of experience and a well-rounded skill set to her new owner position at Callidus Engineering. Over the course of her career, Jennifer has contributed to the company in her roles as director of engineering, department manager, project manager and mechanical engineer. In addition to her diverse experience, Jennifer also specializes in health care design, commercial design and institutional renovations. Jennifer’s experience, specialized knowledge and the customer-centric approach she uses, makes her a valuable new owner for the firm.

Nick Lorusso – Mechanical Designer
With over 15 years of experience and a specialized understanding of medical imaging and building commissioning, Nick brings a valuable skill set to his new owner position at Callidus Engineering. Nick’s experience paired with his specialized knowledge of the medical sector will allow him to contribute to the on-going growth and success of the company.

Russ Strathdee, P.Eng. – Mechanical Engineer
With nearly ten years of experience working in the industry, Russ brings a breadth of experience and expertise to his new owner position at the firm. With experience managing clients and projects in a wide range of sectors including government, industrial and private sector, and his knowledge in fire suspension systems and fuel oil code, Russ brings a diverse skill set that will help contribute to Callidus’ future success.

Zam Abdulla, P.Eng – Electrical Engineer
A combination of experience, specialized knowledge and a strong work ethic are the qualities that Zam brings to his new owner position at Callidus. Over the course of his nine-year career working as an electrical engineer, Zam has gained specialized knowledge in the areas of health care and diagnostic imaging, multi-unit residential buildings, institutional building design and project management. This knowledge, paired with his strong work ethic, makes him a great addition to Callidus Engineering’s new owner team.
