Students shouldn’t have to think about whether their learning spaces work. Facilities teams do. Across Ontario, school boards, colleges, and universities balance safe, reliable operations with tight budgets and long-term capital plans. Callidus Engineering designs mechanical and electrical systems to meet immediate needs while supporting efficient performance, sustainability, compliance, and the student experience. With offices in London, Kingston, and Kitchener-Waterloo, our team is accessible and familiar with the demands of public education projects.

What do Educational Facilities Need?

A failing building system can quickly become a classroom problem. School boards, colleges, and universities manage aging infrastructure while balancing tight budgets with the needs of students and staff. Facilities teams must decide what to maintain, what to replace, and when upgrades can happen in occupied buildings. Unplanned failures can divert funds and disrupt learning, making reliable systems and careful planning essential.

Here is how our team keeps your facility running:

  • Extend the life of vital mechanical and electrical systems with upgrades planned around school operations.

  • Assess aging infrastructure to support better capital plans and budget decisions.

  • Maintain code compliance and emergency readiness across school and campus spaces.

  • Recommend long lasting, cost-conscious options that reduce maintenance needs and improve energy efficiency.
